Whether it's a typo, wrong attachment, or enter pressed too early, in Vicodo, you have an option to edit or delete chat messages you've sent. You can also allow your customers to do so - it may help you keep conversations coherent. Everyone makes mistakes, right?
By default, this option is disabled, but you can turn it on in a few simple steps. The settings apply to chat messages from the Invitation page and Website widget.
Editing and deleting chat messages is only possible if you have an Enterprise subscription. If you have an administrator role, you can edit and delete your messages regardless of the settings. |
Go to Settings by clicking the icon. You will immediately land the Global settings tab.Here, scroll down until you see the Chat options section.
To enable each of the available options, you need to click on the particular toggle. Don't forget to save the changes - click the Save button that will appear on top of the screen.
Now, let's see what changes from the operator's and customer's perspectives:
- Allow operators to edit messages
If you enable editing, the pencil icon will appear when the operator hovers over the sent message. After clicking on the icon, it is possible to edit text. Pressing enter confirms changes.
- Allow customers to edit messages
If you enable editing, the pencil icon will appear when the customer hovers over the sent message. After clicking on the icon, it is possible to edit text. Pressing enter confirms changes.
- Allow operators to delete messages
If you enable editing, the pencil icon will appear when the operator hovers over the sent message. After clicking on the icon, it is possible to delete the message.
- Allow customers to delete messages
If you enable editing, the pencil icon will appear when the customer hovers over the sent message. After clicking on the icon, it is possible to delete the message.
- Enable deleting and editing
If you enable both options, after clicking the pencil icon Edit and Delete are be available.
Customer and operator settings are independent. |
