Adding your phone number is entirely optional, and we will never share it with anyone. It is only needed in two situations:
- When you or your administrator have turned on SMS notifications about new cases in the Settings. Once you provide your phone number, you will receive a text message each time a customer creates a new case - via API or the Vicodo Direct widget.
- When you want to send your customer a quick response that uses the {operator_phone} placeholder. If you don’t provide your phone number in your profile, the placeholder will remain empty. You can read more about quick responses and placeholders in this article.
How to add your phone number to your profile
Go to the Profile tab in the Settings and fill in the Phone number field:
Remember that your phone number must include the + symbol and your country code. For example: If your phone number is 9999 999 and you live in Germany, type +49 9999 999.
When you have entered your number, you will see the message about unsaved changes at the top of your screen. Click Save.
